About The Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland

The Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland is the representative body for Independent Coach Operators who are dedicated to providing first class passenger transport to domestic and overseas visitors.

Membership is restricted to coach companies who meet the strict standards criteria agreed between the CTTC and Failte Ireland. The Coach Tourism and Transport Council operates the Coach Approvals and Star Classification under licence from Failte Ireland.

Coaches are rated 1,2,3,4,5, Star according to the onboard facilities, standard of comfort, Age and the overall condition of the vehicle. Coaches are inspected and approved on an annual basis.

The association operates in cooperation with all relevant Government Departments and State Agencies to enhance the overall standard of public transport being offered to the consumer.

Objectives

• To represent members interests at all appropriate levels to all external bodies on coach tourism and transport matters.
• To seek to agree with Failte Ireland a code of minimum standards for coach operators to achieve Failte Ireland/CTTC approval.
• To maintain, and where possible, increase high standards of customer service.
• To ensure the basic viability of its members and to promote their greater profitability.
• To speak for the industry as a single, fully representative and strong voice in all matters which effect the future of the industry.
• To devise, plan and run as appropriate, relevant training courses for owners, management, staff and drivers.
• To keep members informed on matters pertinent to their trade and commercial business.
• To organize social events and field trips to keep members up to date with advances in vehicle manufacture and to provide an opportunity to form close working relationships among members.
• To foster goodwill and co-operation among members.
